Questions about What Everyone's Searching For

How do you authenticate the pieces you sell?
Every item is authenticated before it goes on the site. We inspect construction and stitching, hardware weight and engraving, interior linings and tagging, and any date code or serial, then compare the piece against verified references from the same production run. If we cannot verify something, we do not list it.
Who does the authenticating — you, or a third party?
Authentication is carried out in-house by our own team, who handle these houses daily and know the tells specific to each one. On the highest-value pieces we also commission an independent third-party authentication before the item goes live.
Does my order arrive with proof of authenticity?
Yes. Every order ships with documentation tying it to the specific item you bought. Where the original box, dust bag, spare hardware or retail receipt came with the piece, they are included — and each listing tells you exactly what is in the box before you buy.
What happens if an item is ever found not to be authentic?
We refund it in full. If a piece bought from CLB XXIII is determined by a recognised authentication service not to be genuine, we return the full purchase price including shipping. We would rather lose a sale than have something questionable leave the building.
Are these pieces new or pre-owned?
Both, and every listing tells you which. You will see ‘Brand new with tags’, ‘Brand new with all included accessories’, ‘Gently used’, or a specific note where there is a flaw — discolouration, a mark on a lining, wear to a sole. Condition notes are written by the person who physically inspected the piece, and flaws are photographed rather than described around.
Why is only one size available on most of these?
Because there is only one of it. Most of what we carry is single-unit — one piece, in one size, sourced individually. When it sells, the listing goes with it. A small number of items are stocked in depth; those show every size we hold.
Is CLB XXIII affiliated with Louis Vuitton or the other houses you carry?
No. CLB XXIII is an independent resale house. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, or sponsored by Louis Vuitton, Chrome Hearts, Chanel, Nike or any other brand represented here. Every piece is sourced on the secondary market from collectors, consignors and private sales, and authenticated by us before it is listed.
Can I see more of an item before I commit?
Yes. Send us the product name and tell us what you want to see — date code, hardware, soles, interior lining, the inside of a collar — and we will photograph it for you. Ask before you buy rather than after. On single-unit pieces we would much rather you were certain.
